Manuscript Assessment
Your manuscript is read and assessed to determine which editing stage or service your project needs. The ideal first step before committing to any editing package — it saves time, money, and ensures your manuscript gets exactly the care it needs.
1
Developmental Editing
A comprehensive look at storytelling elements — characterization, plot development, setting, and structure — with suggestions on what to rewrite to enhance scenes and the entire story.
2
Copyediting
Corrects grammar, spelling, punctuation, capitalization, syntax issues and more — with thoughtful guidance on style decisions throughout.
3
Line Editing
A line-by-line approach checking word choices, sentence arrangements and rewrites — making sentences and paragraphs clearer while preserving your unique narrative voice.
4
Proofreading
A final check of the electronic file for typos — minor errors in spelling, punctuation, spacing — before your manuscript goes to print.
